Principal, St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh

I welcome Dear students, educators, and mentors from around the world to the 32nd International Conference of Young Scientists (ICYS), hosted by St. Mark’s Senior Secondary Public School, Meera Bagh, New Delhi. As the Principal of the host institution, it is a profound honour to lead a school that nurtures curiosity, fosters creativity, and values collaboration—principles that are the very essence of ICYS, a remarkable event that transcends the boundaries of a scientific forum and stands as a global tribute to youthful intellect, collective vision, and limitless potential.

My journey as an educational leader and National Awardee, along with my contributions to national initiatives such as NCERT, Swayamprabha, PM e-Vidya, and CBSE’s capacity-building teacher training programs, has only strengthened my belief that effective educational leadership must be inclusive, collaborative, and purpose-driven—dedicated to empowering both educators and learners. In today’s dynamic world, one of the most rewarding aspects of education is seeing young minds engage meaningfully with transformative technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, and gene-editing innovations like CRISPR. I believe that it is not just their technical skills, but their thoughtful integration of ethical insights, creative vision, and unwavering optimism that will set them apart. With the right guidance and mentorship, this generation will be equipped to navigate the future and shape it with purpose and conviction.

This edition of ICYS exemplifies the true spirit of education — providing a platform where knowledge transcends boundaries, diverse ideas are celebrated, and young scientists unite not only to present their research but also to build connections, immerse in new cultures, and grow into confident, empowered global citizens. At St. Mark’s, we believe that true education nurtures both the mind and the imagination. We stand committed to student-centred learning—an approach that honours each learner’s voice, choice, and unique journey. We aim to cultivate not just academic excellence, but confident, compassionate, and resilient individuals who are prepared to lead with both intellect and empathy.

In many ways, the 32nd ICYS embodies this very vision. It encourages young minds to question with confidence, explore with curiosity, and innovate with integrity, all while building lasting connections across cultures and continents.

To our brilliant young participants: your passion, your curiosity, and your dreams inspire us all. May this conference ignite a deeper love for discovery, broaden your horizons, and empower you to emerge as leaders who spread light and bring transformation wherever you go.

Welcome to India, to St. Mark’s and to the 32nd edition of ICYS — where science meets soul, and the future begins.

Warm regards,
Ms. Ritika Anand
